RENO, Nev. (AP) - JetBlue Airways has announced plans for daily, nonstop flights between Reno and New York City beginning in May.

The service will be the first of its kind linking the Big Apple and the Biggest Little City in the World.

Reno Tahoe Airport Authority President Marily Mora says the northeast corridor long has been recognized as the city’s most underserved market. She told the Reno Gazette-Journal (https://tinyurl.com/oo4kevh) the flights to JFK International will be a “game changer” for the region’s economy.

Tourism officials say they’ll help attract more conventions as well as skiers to the area.

JetBlue says the flights will sell for as low as $450 roundtrip beginning May 28.

Promotional one-way fares will be offered for $89 between May 28 and June 17 if purchased by Jan. 16.
