ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) - A man accused of throwing a rock from an overpass and injuring a University of Oregon runner was arraigned Monday in Roseburg on a felony assault charge.

The Register-Guard reports (https://bit.ly/1z5sa0n ) 21-year-old Matthew Logan McKinney of Sutherlin was allowed to remain free while his case is in Douglas County Circuit Court.

A grand jury indicted McKinney and another man for the incident in November 2012 on an Interstate 5 overpass. A rock shattered a windshield and hit the driver in the face.

The car crashed and the driver, University of Oregon distance runner Molly Grabill, was hospitalized for two days.
