BALTIMORE (AP) - Maryland’s comptroller is set to recognize a half-century of omelets and pancakes at a popular Baltimore breakfast spot.

Comptroller Peter Franchot will be at Pete’s Grille on Tuesday morning to issue a proclamation recognizing its more than 50 years of service.

A favorite of Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, Pete’s specializes in traditional Southern breakfast fare. Franchot calls it “a Baltimore landmark” and will present the proclamation to its owners, Dave and Darlene Stahl.
