CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - An attorney for the Natrona County Detention Center is asking a judge to dismiss part of a civil rights lawsuit filed by the family of an inmate who killed himself.

The county is arguing that jail workers didn’t know Larry Turner Jr. was suicidal. Turner’s family says jail workers were deliberately indifferent to his well-being.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://tinyurl.com/o7h8kpy ) the lawsuit filed last year says officials did not follow policy when Turner arrived at the jail and that the workers were not adequately trained.

Turner was jailed in 2012 following accusations he violated conditions of his bond while awaiting trial on an aggravated vehicular manslaughter charge stemming from a 2011 car accident that killed a friend.
