CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - An Ohio doctor has been sentenced in West Virginia to two years in prison on federal drug-related charges.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says 33-year-old Dr. Robert Timothy Hogan II of Coolsville, Ohio, wrote more than 160 illegal prescriptions between January 2013 and February 2014.

Hogan pleaded guilty in October 2014 to traveling in interstate commerce and using a communications device to facilitate a felony. He was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Charleston.

Goodwin says Hogan admitted traveling between Athens County, Ohio, and Wood County, West Virginia, and using his cell phone to facilitate a prescription arrangement with a person who wasn’t his patient. Hogan received half of the pills when the prescriptions were filled.
