BRINKLEY, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas road crews will close westbound Interstate 40 at Brinkley on Wednesday night so they can work on a damaged guard rail.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department says the guard rail is in a construction area at mile marker 208. Westbound traffic will be diverted at Brinkley to U.S. 49 south, then along U.S. 70 west to Biscoe. Traffic will rejoin I-40 from Arkansas 33, just east of the White River.

The work is set to begin Wednesday night at 11 and be done by 7 a.m. Thursday. If the weather is bad the work will be delayed.
