NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City judge has sentenced a Schenectady man to prison for a crash that killed a woman in 2013.

Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown announced the 1½ to 4 year sentence Tuesday for 24-year-old Vishwanand Subryan (VIHSH’-wah-nahnd SOO’-bry-ahn.)

He pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in November. Prosecutors said he had been drinking before the crash.

The victim, 59-year-old Raj K. Chohan, was found on the ground between two parked cars. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Officers pursued the defendant, who ran a stop sign and a red light before they pulled him over.

He’ll be required to use an ignition lock for three years after he gets out of prison.
