URBANA, Ill. (AP) - A Bloomington woman has been sentenced to three years in prison for her role in a plan to put a pipe bomb in her brother’s mailbox in Decatur.

The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reports (https://bit.ly/14VIbta ) that Linda Sue Curtis was sentenced Friday in federal court in Urbana to 37 months in prison.

Curtis pleaded guilty in October to conspiring with Lloyd Lockwood of Bloomington. Lockwood is serving a 10-year sentence for putting the explosive device in the mailbox. A bomb squad was able to neutralize the explosive.

Court records show that Curtis wanted to get her brother in trouble because they were in an ongoing dispute over their mother’s estate.

Curtis previously worked for the Transportation Security Administration as an agent at the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington.
