LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities are investigating two fires that erupted within hours of each other and caused major damage to a popular Long Beach restaurant.

The Press-Telegram reported Monday (https://bit.ly/1yGPksJ ) that the Bixby Knolls Hof’s Hut was closed after the fires.

Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Brian Frisk said the first blaze was reported shortly before 9:15 p.m. Sunday and crews got it under control in 11 minutes.

Frisk says a second fire was reported after 1 a.m. Monday.

Frisk says one firefighter was treated at a hospital for minor heated-related injuries.

The Hof’s Hut chain has three other locations in California. It traces its origins to a 1940s burger stand.
