Reaction to Gov. Tom Wolf’s inauguration speech by Republicans:

- “There were really no specifics. I’m not surprised.” - Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati, Jefferson County.

- “I appreciate Gov. Wolf acknowledging that the most pressing need in Pennsylvania is change. We must work together to change the structural deficit problems in the state. We have a bucket that is leaking. It would be a misstep to persist at putting water in the bucket without first plugging the leak.” - Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman, Centre County.

- “He didn’t give any specifics. He talked a lot about the need for more education funding. He did clearly state that today and I assume that was an entree to say that we need to put more money into that. He talked about more regulation for drilling. I was pleased that he wasn’t taking position that he wouldn’t permit drilling in Pennsylvania.” - Sen. John Eichelberger, Blair County.
