ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - A man who said six Atlantic City police officers assaulted him during an incident captured on a casino security video has been indicted by a grand jury that also cleared the officers.

David Connor Castellani is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and inflicting harm on a law enforcement animal. The 22-year-old Linwood man could face nearly 12 years in prison if convicted on all counts.

The charges stem from a June 2013 incident, which occurred shortly after Castellani was cited for disorderly conduct at a casino. Prosecutors say Castellani threatened and used force against one of the officers. He eventually was taken down by the officers.

The Press of Atlantic City reports Castellani needed more than 200 stitches to close up wounds in his head from the police dog.
