GREGORY, Texas (AP) - Authorities say no injuries were reported at a blaze that sent billowing fireballs over a South Texas industrial plant.

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1CfwKsp ) the fire happened Tuesday evening at the Southcross Energy plant in Gregory, located about 13 miles northeast of Corpus Christi.

The San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office says the fire has been extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Authorities shut down nearby roadways as local volunteer fire departments battled the blaze. The roadways were reopened later Tuesday evening.

Southcross provides natural gas gathering, processing, treating, compression and transportation services in South Texas, Mississippi and Alabama.

A cause of the fire was not immediately known.

Officials with Dallas-based Southcross say no details on a possible cause will be released until an investigation is completed.
