RIVES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say firefighters discovered a man’s body after putting out a blaze that destroyed a house in southern Michigan.

The fire happened Monday just after midnight in Jackson County’s Rives Township. State police Sgt. Kevin Caldwell says the man’s name is being withheld until a medical examiner confirms his identity.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot (https://bit.ly/1zv82ow ) reports that the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but authorities don’t believe it’s suspicious.
