UNION, S.C. (AP) - Police say a 17-year-old Union High School student set several science projects on fire in a classroom.

Investigators told local media outlets that the teen used a lighter Friday to set a table full of projects on fire.

Police say that a teacher and students were able to use water to put out the blaze before firefighters could get to the school. No one was injured.

The teen was charged with third-degree arson. Police didn’t give a reason why he set the projects on fire.
