AVON, Miss. (AP) - The Western Line School Board has unanimously approved a contract extension for Superintendent Larry Green.

School officials tells the Delta Democrat-Times (https://bit.ly/15r1875 ) that Green, who has led the district since 1991, will continue at the helm at least through the 2018-19 school year.

Green was last given an extension in 2012. The new extension was approved this past week.

Green received his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and spent 16 years as a counselor, administrator and teacher before taking over the Western Line School District.

Green says he’s happy to continue serving as the district’s top official. He says the district has a hard working staff that is dedicated to making sure children learn.

The Western Line School District is located in Washington County.
