SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Federal officials say more than 116,000 Utah residents have enrolled in health insurance plans through the government-run online marketplace this enrollment season.

U.S. Health and Human Services Department figures released Wednesday include those who signed up for 2015 coverage between Nov. 15 and Jan. 16.

The updated enrollment figures show 89 percent of those who signed up in Utah are eligible for federal help to reduce their monthly premiums.

Across the country, nearly 7.2 million people have signed up for insurance through HealthCare.gov.

The website offers a place to find insurance for those who don’t get coverage through their jobs. It’s a key component of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.

The deadline to sign up for coverage is Feb. 15.
