DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Dubuque now has five city properties that can people can use for sledding, skiing and snowboarding.

The City Council voted Tuesday night to allow the snow fun at three more city parks: Gay, Usha and Valentine.

The council had voted Jan. 5 to limit sledding to just Bunker Hill Golf Course and Allison-Henderson Park. That decision sparked a public protest in which dozens of people turned out to sled at a local school.

Officials approved the sledding restrictions out of concern the city could be liable for injured sledders. Other Midwest cities have lost multimillion-dollar lawsuits filed by people who were severely injured in sledding accidents.
