GALVESTON, Texas (AP) - A Southeast Texas man accused of paying thousands to high school girls for sex will serve six months in jail after being convicted of sexually assaulting a child.

A Galveston County judge on Wednesday ordered 63-year-old Michael McIntosh to jail as part of his 10-year probation.

The Houston Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1J8Bhiw ) prosecutors could decide to try him on other sex assault charges.

McIntosh was convicted Tuesday following a four-day trial in which a number of girls testified they were given money to visit his Friendswood home. One testified that she knew McIntosh as “Money Mike.” Prosecutors say he was known to frequent restaurants and solicit waitresses.

The prosecution had sought a 20-year sentence.
