CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Law enforcement officials have captured a Troutman man wanted in the death of his estranged wife’s boyfriend.

Area media outlets report 33-year-old Jeffrey Allen Gillespie was arrested without incident on Wednesday at a business in Charlotte. Troutman is about 35 miles north of Charlotte.

Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell said deputies and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police had been tracking a known associate of Gillespie’s in Charlotte, which led to the arrest.

Gillespie was wanted in the killing early Tuesday of 25-year-old Robert Joseph Swedlund, whose body was found outside Troutman Animal Hospital early Tuesday.

It’s not known if Gillespie has an attorney.
