PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - Pasadena officials have fired two city department heads who were in charge of overseeing a fund that prosecutors say was bilked for more than $6 million.

The Pasadena Star-News (https://bit.ly/1BcTOGZ) reported Tuesday that Finance Director Andrew Green and Public Works Director Siobhan Foster were ousted by City Manager Michael Beck.

Mayor Bill Bogaard told the newspaper it’s possible other employees will be disciplined.

A former Pasadena public works employee - Danny Wooten - was charged in December in a scheme to embezzle more than $6 million from the city and direct some of it to a church where he is pastor. Prosecutors say Wooten used false invoices to steal the taxpayer funds.

He and two friends were arrested as part of a 60-count felony complaint.
