PORTLAND, ore. (AP) - Authorities say a 40-year-old Portland man accused of stealing six Toyotas and Subarus from the 1990s has been arrested and charged.

The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/OXO12q ) police found the man last weekend, slumped over and unresponsive in a stolen Toyota where they also found heroin. They called for medical assistance.

Prosecutors say they have matched the fingerprints of John D. Lorenz III to prints found in five other cars stolen and recovered in Portland in the past three weeks.

Lorenz was jailed Monday and arraigned Tuesday in connection with the thefts. Stolen laptops, credit cards, clothes and other valuables were found in several of the cars.

A rash of car thefts involving Subarus from the ‘90s began in late November in Portland.

Lorenz was charged with 18 felony counts, including theft, stolen vehicle possession and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
