PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A 20-year-old Portland man who video recorded children using public bathrooms has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.

Federal prosecutors say Anthony Thea faces up to 20 years in prison at sentencing after entering his guilty plea Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland.

According to court records, an undercover federal agent last year identified a computer later traced to Thea making images of child pornography available via a peer-to-peer file sharing program. In October, agents executed a search warrant and seized Thea’s laptop. Prosecutors say Thea told investigators he had used his cellphone to make video recordings of minors in public restrooms and saved them on his computer.

Investigators found about 80 secretly made digital recordings of minor males using restrooms.
