WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Students and faculty at Purdue University have paused to remember a student who was killed a year ago by a classmate.

Wednesday’s vigil honoring Andrew Boldt included a moment of silence and coincided with the Purdue Bell Tower ringing 12 times.

Purdue also remembered Boldt by posting a photo of the candlelight vigil taken the evening of the shooting on its website Wednesday.

Investigators say Cody Cousins of Warsaw, Indiana, attacked the 21-year-old Boldt on Jan. 21, 2014, in a classroom filled with students. The West Bend, Wisconsin, man died after being shot five times and stabbed.

Cousins was sentenced in September to 65 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in Boldt’s killing. He took his own life in a state prison in October.
