RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police are looking for a person of interest in an apparent accidental shooting that left a 20-year-old man in critical condition.

Police say the man suffered a single gunshot wound to the face at a south Reno apartment complex on Lakeside Drive about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say the accounts of several witnesses inside the apartment at the time suggest another male was handling a handgun when it accidentally discharged. They say the unknown male took the gun and left the scene before officers arrived.

The victim was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center where he’s listed as critical.

Anyone with information is asked to call Reno police at 775-334-2115 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
