PLACERVILLE, Calif. (AP) - Officials in El Dorado County have offered a reward of up $25,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of a man who opened fire on a sheriff’s deputy in October.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1EqMYOT ) the deputy came upon an empty truck in a turnout near Camino. As he walked down a trail to investigate, the deputy encountered a man. Officials say the man refused to comply with the deputy’s commands and the two struggled. The man reportedly retrieved a handgun from the truck and fired at the deputy.

The deputy was not injured and returned fire, but it is not known whether the man sustained any injuries.

Officials on Tuesday released a sketch of the suspect and a photo of a truck similar to the one he was driving.
