RIVES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man who was found dead after a fire destroyed his home in southern Michigan.

The fire happened Monday just after midnight in Jackson County’s Rives Township, near Jackson.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot (https://bit.ly/1BHMXIm ) reports that state police identify the victim as 59-year-old Kevin J. Dack. They say an autopsy show he died of smoke inhalation.

State police say the exact cause of the fire remains unclear but say they’ve ruled out arson.
