PHOENIX (AP) - A private track and field coach who pleaded guilty to sex crimes involving a teenage girl is going to prison.

A Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman says Judge Pamela Svoboda sentenced Bo Reed on Wednesday to six years in prison and lifetime probation.

Reed pleaded guilty Dec. 20 to one count of sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of attempted sexual conduct with a minor. He’s set to be sentenced on Jan. 21.

Phoenix police arrested Reed in March after the messages were found on the girl’s Facebook account. Authorities said he coached the girl for three years.

Reed is a former Northern Arizona University runner who held distance training camps in Flagstaff. He also coached runners at Scottsdale Community College and other schools.
