EAST GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island woman is accused of stealing cash and credit cards from a museum’s coat check room.

Nassau County police say it happened on Monday at the Long Island Children’s Museum in East Garden City.

They say Mary Elliott of Hauppauge was a visitor at the museum when she entered the self-serve coat check room and went through coats and bags removing wallets containing cash and credit cards.

Police arrested her at her home on Tuesday.

She’s charged with two counts of grand larceny.

It wasn’t immediately known if she had a lawyer.
