CEDARTOWN, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in northwest Georgia say five people accused of shooting out storefront windows and shooting at a car that was carrying a small child have been arrested.
Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome tells the Rome News-Tribune (https://bit.ly/15vQJq7 ) a woman called authorities Wednesday night after a shot was fired into the driver’s side window of the car she and her child were riding in. Newsome says the two weren’t injured.
Newsome says authorities responding to the call about the woman’s car found that display windows of several downtown businesses had also been shattered. Newsome says police believe the damage was caused by a BB or pellet gun.
Authorities say the suspects are charged with criminal damage to property and being a party to a crime.
