DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say the body of an infant was found in the debris of a house fire in southwest Ohio.

Media outlets report that the baby’s body was in the back of the Dayton home destroyed by fire Thursday. The child was about 4 months old.

Fire officials say the baby’s grandmother suffered smoke inhalation and was hospitalized. Officials say she told them she wasn’t able to get to the baby.

Officials tell the Dayton Daily News that the blaze appears accidental, but the investigation is continuing. The family was using a wood-burning stove for heat.

A message left with the fire department wasn’t returned Thursday.

The fire occurred the same day a house fire caused by a kerosene heater in eastern Ohio claimed the lives of three children.
