CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Charleston police officer has resigned after admitting he made racially-tinged videos.

Media reports state Lt. Shawn Williams resigned on Wednesday, the same day he was scheduled to appear before a disciplinary panel. The hearing was cancelled.

Mayor Danny Jones said of Williams, “He’s done.”

Williams had been on administrative leave since September.

The resignation stems from videos reportedly showing Williams’ daughter wearing parts of a Charleston police uniform while dancing to a song that references the Ku Klux Klan.
