SILVER CITY, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State Police say a body found on a road in Grant County has been identified but the cause of death is still a mystery.

State Police said Saturday the body has been identified as 27-year-old Patrick Campos, of Silver City.

Authorities say the Grant County Sheriff’s Department discovered Campos on a dirt road near a cemetery off of Georgetown Road on Wednesday.

Deputies requested assistance in the investigation from State Police.

Investigators say Campos’ body showed no obvious signs of trauma.

The Office of the Medical Investigator will conduct an autopsy.
