TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Tuscaloosa say a child was hospitalized after a crash involving two buses.

Tuscaloosa Police Sgt. Brent Blankley tells the Tuscaloosa News (https://bit.ly/1CJbX16 ) the injured child was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center and no serious injuries have been reported in the Monday afternoon crash.

Authorities say the crash involved a local school bus and a bus affiliated with a local Boys & Girls Club. Blankley says the driver of the club’s bus was unable to stop in enough time to avoid the collision - which sparked a fire under the hood after impact.

Tuscaloosa schools officials say about 15 middle school children were on the school bus.
