ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police say a 14-year-old boy is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man outside a midtown drugstore.

KTUU (https://is.gd/C0CGOX) reports police responded to a Walgreens store on Lake Otis Parkway shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police later identified the victim as Charles Gustav Steinhilpert III.

Police say the two males had agreed to meet at the Walgreens for a drug transaction. Police say that the two got into an altercation during the transaction, and the suspect fired a gun once at the victim inside a car.

Steinhilpert was pronounced dead at a local hospital after his friends drove him there.

Police say the suspect has been detained and the case is being referred to the juvenile justice system.
