JASPER, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a metro Atlanta man has died after a single vehicle crash in Alabama.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Trooper Johnathan Appling said in a statement that Paul Eskew of Douglasville, Georgia died Monday morning when the truck he was driving on Interstate 22 veered from the road, hit a guardrail and overturned.
Authorities say 62-year-old Eskew wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger was taken to the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital.
The crash is under investigation and details on the extent of the passenger’s injuries weren’t immediately available.
