PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a wounded man found in the middle of a busy Phoenix street had been stabbed by his roommate.

Phoenix police say 41-year-old Andrew Murray has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault in the case.

Murray’s 26-year-old roommate was found lying in the southbound lanes of Seventh Street near Thomas Road at about 3 a.m. Monday.

Police say the stabbing victim was attacked a home nearby before stumbling into the street.

The victim was listed in critical condition at a hospital Monday night.

Murray was detained early in the investigation, but police didn’t release his name or call him a suspect until Monday evening.

Police say the men had been involved in an ongoing dispute.
