ABILENE, Texas (AP) - Kaheem Ransom scored 13 points to lead five in double figures and Sam Houston State cruised past Abilene Christian 80-63 on Monday.

Sam Houston State (15-5, 7-1 Southland) raced out to a 24-5 lead over the first 7 ½ minutes, with five different players hitting 3-pointers in the sequence - the last two by Aurimas Majauskas and Marquel McKinney on back-to-back possessions - and the Bearkats led comfortably at the break, 45-25.

Abilene Christian trimmed its deficit to 14 twice in the second half but got no closer.

The Bearkats shot 50 percent from the floor, including 12 of 26 beyond the arc. DeMarcus Gatlin and Dakarai Henderson had 12 apiece, Michael Holyfield added 11 points and Jabari Peters scored 10.

Abilene Christian (9-11, 3-4) was led by Austin Cooke with 15 points. Christian Albright added 10 points and six boards.
