GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Court records show a second man accused in a cocaine conspiracy in Pearl River County and elsewhere in South Mississippi has informed the court of his intent to plead guilty in the case.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/15AnylD ) Juan Resendez and Nicholas Wilkes are each accused in a conspiracy to distribute five or more kilos of cocaine in South Mississippi from as early as 2005 through the date of the indictment in early November.

Resendez informed the court Friday he plans to plead guilty to the conspiracy charge. Wilkes pleaded guilty to same charge in July and is now scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 12.

Resendez is due in court Tuesday for the change of plea hearing.

Both men are facing a maximum prison term of up to 10 years.
