NEW YORK (AP) - The massive snowstorm blanketing the New York area is already taking a bite out of the restaurant business.

Near Times Square in midtown Manhattan, the TSQ Brasserie was totally empty at mid-afternoon Monday.

Manager Mohi Hassan said he’s never in his life seen it this empty. He says business is down 70 percent at a loss of thousands of dollars. He says he’ll be closed on Tuesday.

In the New York City suburb of Eastchester, the manager of Oriental Palace says people have been calling and cancelling their reservations.

Nelson Chen says that in the restaurant business if you lose two days you’re not going to make it up. He says it could get worse if he loses power and can’t keep the food.
