SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A judge says a northern Utah woman is still not mentally fit to stand trial in the death of her 2-year-old son.

Lawyer David Perry said Monday that 43-year-old Heidi Marie Rutchey has been treated at the Utah State Hospital for a year, but administrators report she remains incompetent for trial.

Rutchey faces a murder charge in the August 2013 death of her son Eli. Court records show she tried to kill herself and told staffers at a Logan hospital she had suffocated her son in a bathtub.

Authorities went to her house in River Heights and found the boy, who they believe had been dead for several days.

Cache Valley Daily reports (https://bit.ly/1z3Bdwa ) Judge Brandon Maynard ruled she remains unfit for trial and set a new hearing for next year.
