BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A 45-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to murder in connection with a Bismarck slaying.

Mark Butts is accused in the early December stabbing death of 57-year-old Richard Glover of Mississippi. Bismarck police say an argument over race might have preceded the killing.

Authorities say Glover died on Dec. 4 after suffering from more than a dozen stab wounds. Police found Butts in a nearby parking lot.

On Monday, a Bismarck police detective testified Butts had cuts on his hand that were consistent with the stabbing.
