CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - Chattanooga is cutting the men’s indoor and outdoor track and field team at the end of this season and will limit the roster for men’s cross country.

Athletic director David Blackburn announced the move Tuesday.

The Mocs have worked the past five years to comply with Title IX under federal law. Blackburn says they looked at every option and Chattanooga is not in position to add a sport. He says this move was intended to affect the least amount of people.

Scholarships will be honored for students through graduation, and no coaches will be cut. Chattanooga will assist any student looking to transfer to another college to compete.
