ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a fire has caused extensive damage to a Rochester building where dozens of firefighters worked for several hours before getting the blaze under control.

Officials tell the Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester (https://on.rocne.ws/15JtvN0 ) that the fire was reported around 5 a.m. Tuesday at a three-story building next door to the Memorial Art Gallery on North Goodman Street.

About 70 firefighters battled the three-alarm blaze for several hours before getting it under control. The blaze caused the building’s roof to collapse.

City transit buses were brought in so firefighters can stay warm in the 15-degree weather while taking breaks.

The building, home to a small architecture firm, was built in the early 1900s. Officials say it was being renovated into offices.

No injuries have been reported.

There’s no word yet on a possible cause of the fire.
