PITTSBURGH (AP) - A teenager whose naked body was found in a city park in October died from an accidental overdose of heroin and drugs found in cough medicines.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office determined the cause of 16-year-old Teaira Whitehead’s death from toxicology tests.

Her body was found Oct. 6 and Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala has said the body was doused in bleach, possibly by someone trying to remove DNA or other evidence from the body. While the medical examiner’s finding indicates the girl wasn’t purposely killed, her body may have been dumped in the park by someone who was present when she died or supplied the drugs, which would be crimes.

Nobody has been arrested in her death.

The body was discovered by joggers.
