OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Officials in western Iowa have arrested an Omaha man accused of stealing cattle and plan to arrest two others thought to be involved.

Cass County Sheriff Darby McLaren says the trio is suspected in cattle thefts from two farms in the Lewis, Iowa, area.

The Omaha World-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1EpfEL0 ) investigation began when two cattle were reported stolen in May from Freund Brothers Farms. The farm reported the theft of two more in June. Another four cattle were reported stolen in June from JW Freund Farms.

Police say 57-year-old Ervin John Jacob was charged Thursday with three counts of second-degree theft and one count of ongoing criminal conduct. They say he is suspected in all three incidents.

Online court records do not list an attorney for Jacob.
