NAPERVILLE, Ill. (AP) - The longtime mayor of Naperville has given his 20th and final State of the City address.

Mayor A. George Pradel wore a top hat and red bow tie when he gave the speech to an overflow crowd in the Chicago suburb on Monday. The 77-year-old has been Naperville mayor for 20 years and has said he won’t run for another term in the April municipal election.

Pradel’s wife Pat introduced him at the speech. She remembered his time as a Naperville police officer.

Pradel focused on teamwork during his speech and told the crowd that it’s been his “life’s blessing and privilege to be the mayor.”
