SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa Bay area man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for a deadly drive-by shooting.

As part of a deal with Sarasota County prosecutors, 21-year-old Darian Davis pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder.

Authorities say Davis and the victim, Justin Ates, had both been at a Sarasota house party in July where several fights had broken out. Davis left but returned later that night, firing several shots at the house.

Officials say Ates was outside at the time of the shooting but was not the intended target.
