NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Flights are arriving and departing at the New York area’s three major airports on a limited basis, but many travelers’ schedules have still been adversely affected by cancellations.

A Federal Aviation Administration website that tracks airport delays reports that arrival and departure delays at Newark Liberty, LaGuardia and JFK airports are averaging about 15 minutes early Tuesday evening.

Many flights were canceled in advance as airlines took precautions beginning Monday as the winter storm began to blanket the area.

About three-quarters of all scheduled flights at Newark had been canceled as of Tuesday morning.
