CHICAGO (AP) - The winter storm hitting the East Coast is affecting flights in and out of Chicago’s two airports.

As of Tuesday morning, airlines had canceled more than 280 flights in and out of O’Hare International Airport. Most of those flights would have been to or from cities battered by the heavy snow and high winds.

The Chicago Department of Aviation also reported that more than 45 flights have been canceled so far at Midway International Airport.

No major delays were reported.

Flight disruptions could worsen throughout the day.

The nor’easter is expected to continue to pound Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine through Tuesday. Total accumulation is expected to reach or exceed two feet in most of Massachusetts.
