LINDENHURST, N.Y. (AP) - State and city officials say storm cleanup equipment is being moved to eastern Long Island, where it’s needed most.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday that about 500 pieces of equipment - plows, dump trunks, front end loaders - are on their way to Suffolk County from New York City and the mid-Hudson Valley.

The National Guard also is bringing special snow-clearing equipment to Suffolk.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says it’s a “blessing” that the city missed the worst of the storm.

Cuomo, speaking on Long Island, said it’s a shame that “Suffolk took it right on the chin.” He says the forecast was accurate in that respect.
